1-11-14

This past Saturday several guys came out to work on the cars currently in the garage.  Ian and his brother positioned the differential in the '12 and after a little welding it is now permanently mounted.  They also got a good start on mold prep for a new seat for this car.  Ian brought the remaining parts for the steering system and except for a little welding that system is complete.  We also crafted a new muffler mount to replace the original.  Overall this car is getting close to heading back to Ian's for assembly.

Matt and Jason cleaned up a few loose ends on the '08, labeled & configured the new relays and also helped with the '12.

The next big task will be laying-up several new composite parts:

  • New seat for '08
  • New seat for '12
  • Dash Panel for '08
One last composite project that I have going is a new floor for the '08.  This will replace three existing aluminum panels.  The intent is for this panel to keep the grass out of the car, keep the rear dampers from dragging on the track and contain minor fluid leaks.  Here is a picture of the current state of the mold.
